HONECRIC was established in 2008 and registered in 2009. It grew from the initiative of Child Rights Clubs founded by Mr. Muchope John, a special-needs teacher, together with others under the guidance of the Special Needs Education Department of Hoima and with support from Uganda Society for Disabled Children.
The organization has continued to use schools, clubs, sport, mentoring and community partnerships to help children understand their rights, remain in education and develop confidence.
