Every child in Hoima deserves a voice

Where we started

Hoima Network of Child Rights Clubs (HONECRIC) was established in 2008 and formally registered in 2009 as a Community Based Organization. What began as a small network of child rights clubs in local primary schools has grown into a district-wide movement working with schools, communities, local government, and international partners to protect and promote the rights of children.

Our work pays special attention to children and young people with disabilities, helping them thrive in a responsive environment at school, at home, and in their communities.

What guides our work

Our approach is rooted in inclusion, partnership, and putting children's own voices at the center.

Inclusion first
We work to ensure children with disabilities take an active part in every aspect of school and community life, not on the sidelines of it.
Community-led
Our clubs are run with children, teachers, parents, coaches, and local leaders working together, not a program delivered from outside.
Partnership
We work alongside schools, local government, and organizations such as Tackle Africa, the FIFA Foundation, and the ITTF Foundation to extend our reach.
